In a tight game it was the New York Blue Sox 9, the Philadelphia Phillies 7 at
Citizens Bank Park.
Luis Rengifo was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he
provided much of the offense for the visitors. He lined a base-hit which
plated a run in the 1st inning, delivered a one-base hit in the 2nd inning
and lost the ball over the fence for three runs in the 4th inning.
Philadelphia was not lacking for run support as they scored in 6 separate
innings, yet victory eluded them as they seemed to forget that pitching is
also needed to win ballgames.
Jake Junis(4-5) went 5 innings allowing 4 runs for the win. Junis got help
from Scott Barlow who was credited with his 8th save. Ranger Suarez(6-3) was
the losing pitcher. He surrendered 4 hits and 2 walks in 1 inning.
'I had a little blister on my index finger before the game, but I thought it
was nothing.' Junis said. 'I was lucky I got a win because I couldn't put
the ball where I wanted it.'
