In a two run game the New York Blue Sox halted a 7 game slide and got by the
Philadelphia Phillies by the score of 5 to 3.
In the top of the 4th inning New York scored 4 runs when they came up with 4
base hits. The critical plate appearance was by Harold Castro who silenced
the crowd when he lined a one-base hit plating two runs. For the game New
York out-hit Philadelphia 11 to 8.
The win went to Trevor Williams(2-5) who allowed 2 runs in 5 innings. Scott
Barlow was credited with his 7th save. Michael Lorenzen(3-7) was tagged with
the loss. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 7 hits and 2 walks
in 3 and 2/3 innings.
'I always am most impressed when a pitcher finds a way to win even without his
best stuff,' Steve Beren said after the game. 'Williams did not have command
of his pitches most of the afternoon, but he proved he really knew how to
pitch!'
