Luis Rengifo rocketed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the New York Blue Sox
defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 10 to 9 at Blue Sox Stadium.
The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Rengifo. He ripped a solo home run in the 2nd inning, laced a
one-base hit which scored a run in the 3rd inning and delivered a solo blast
in the 5th inning. The New York offense was great, scoring in 7 of the 9
innings.
Jordan Lyles(1-0) went 5 innings allowing 5 runs for the win. Lyles got help
from Scott Barlow who was credited with his 1st save. Chris Bassitt(0-1) was
the losing pitcher. He served up 5 homeruns in his 4 innings.
'I had a little blister on my index finger before the game, but I thought it
was nothing.' Lyles said. 'I was lucky I got a win because I couldn't put
the ball where I wanted it.'
