League Championship Series, Game #3 - Atlanta 2, Houston 1 (10 minutes)
United Federation of Baseball League Championship Series, Game #3 - Atlanta 2, Houston 1 (10 minutes). Houston starter Cristian Javier (the regular season UFB Cy Young Award winner) retired the first 16 batters he faced, and had a no-hitter through 7.1 innings, but the Braves staged an 8th inning to prevail. Javier and Braves starter Spencer Strider were locked in a scoreless pitchers' duel until the top of the 7th. Yordan Alvarez started the inning by drawing a walk off Strider. After Strider struck out Jeremy Pena, Michael Brantley got an infield hit, with an error by Braves firstbaseman Matt Olson sending Alvarez to third and Brantley to second. Next, Chas McCormick struck out, but then Strider walked Christian Vazquez to load the bases with 2 out. Raisel Iglesias replaced Strider, giving up a single to Jose Altuve that scored Alvarez with the first run of the game. The bases were still loaded, and Iglesias then struck out Yuli Gurriel to end the inning. But Houston now led 1-0, and with Javier still pitching a no-hitter, were threatening to take a commanding 3 games to none lead in the series. In the bottom of the 8th, Javier struck out Austin Riley but then Travis D'Arnaud got a single, breaking up the no-hitter. Next, Marcell Ozuna doubled, moving D'Arnaud to third, and the Braves sent Robbie Grossman in to run for Ozuna. That was all for Javier, who was replaced by Ryan Pressly. Pressly hit William Contreras with a pitch, loading the bases, and then Orlando Arcia singled to score both D'Arnaud and Grossman. The Braves thus went to the top of the 9th with a 2-1 lead, and called upon Kenley Jansen for the save. Jansen struck out Pena, but then walked Brantley, and Mauricio Dubon ran for Brantley. Next, pinch-hitter Trey Mancini got a hit-and-run single, moving Dubon to third. Jansen struck out Vazquez, but walked Altuve. With bases loaded and 2 out, Yuli Gurriel stepped to the plate. He was 0-for-4 on the game, striking out 4 times. This time, Gurriel made contact - but it was an easy grounder to second that was handled by Arcia to end the game. Iglesias got the win, Javier got the loss (dropping to 0-3 in the post-season), and Jansen got the save. Houston still leads the series 2 games to 1. In Game #4, the pitchers will be Charlie Morton for the Braves and Justin Verlander for Houston.

25,496 fans watched an exciting game at Truist Park. The Atlanta Braves
topped the Houston Astros by the slimmest of margins, 2 to 1.
Atlanta had the winning rally in the bottom of the 8th inning scoring 2 runs
on 3 base hits. After an out was recorded, Travis D'Arnaud began the rally
when he lined a base-hit. Marcell Ozuna was next and he doubled. William
Contreras then was hit by a pitch. Orlando Arcia followed next and he
slapped a single plating two runs. The teams had been locked in a scoreless
duel until the 7th inning.
Raisel Iglesias(2-0) went 1 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory.
Kenley Jansen got the save, his 4th. Cristian Javier(0-3) was given the
loss. He gave up only 2 hits and 1 walk in 7 and 1/3 innings.
