Blue Sox Season #4, Semifinal Series "A," Game #2 - Los Angeles 3, New York 2 (13 innings). Another low-scoring extra inning game, and Los Angeles wins by the same score as in Game #1 to take a 2-0 lead in the series. The starting pitchers were Dustin May for Los Angeles and J.A. Happ for New York. As in Game #1, both pitchers did well, but neither figured in the decision. In the bottom of the 3rd, Cody Bellinger singled, Mookie Betts walked, and May bunted the runners over to second and third. After Max Muncy struck out, Will Smith singled to score both Bellinger and Betts, and the Dodgers led 2-0. In the top of the 4th, Luke Voit reached second base on an error by Betts in rightfield. Gio Urshela was hit by a pitch, and Clint Frazier walked, and suddenly New York had the bags full with nobody out. Gleyber Torres grounded into a double play, scoring Voit from third. May then got Gary Sanchez to ground out to end the inning, but New York had narrowed the gap to 2-1. May went 7 innings, and Brusdar Graterol shut out New York in the top of the 8th. In the top of the 9th, Adam Kolarek took the hill seeking to close it out. Kolarek retired the first two batter, but pinch-hitter Erik Kratz doubled and then scored on a game-tying single by D.J. Lemahieu. With the score 2-2, the game would proceed to extra innings. Aroldis Chapman, who had been charged with the loss in Game #1, pitched 3 hitless innings over the 9th, 10th, and 11th innings, and then Zack Britton took over in the 12th. Kenley Jansen, the winning pitcher in Game #1, set down New York in order in the top of the 12th, and Josh Sborz did the same in the top of the 13th. In the bottom of the 13th, Edwin Rios led off and homered off Britton to end the game. Sborz got the win, and Britton got the loss. For New York, which stranded 10 runners, Lemahieu went 3-for-6. The scene now switches from Dodger Stadium to Yankee Stadium for Game #3.

hard fought contest in the 13th inning. Edwin Rios smashed a bases-empty
'big-fly' making Los Angeles victorious to the delight of the the home town
