Blue Sox Game #134 - Blue Sox 8, Minnesota 6 (12 innings, 20 minutes). It took 12 innings, but the Blue Sox finally prevailed. The starting pitchers were Jordan Lyles for the Blue Sox and Jake Odorizzi for Minnesota. Minnesota struck first and took a 2-0 lead when, in the bottom of the 2nd, Max Kepler singled, Jorge Polanco tripled to score Kepler, and Jake Cave doubled to score Polanco. Blue Sox thirdbaseman Yangervis Solarte homered in the top of the 3rd to make the score 2-1. And in the top of the 4th, Tim Anderson's rbi single and a 2-run double by Solarte put the Blue Sox up 4-2. That lead didn't last long as Jason Castro's 3-run homer in the 5th knocked Lyles out of the game and gave Minnesota a 5-4 lead. In the bottom of the 7th, Luis Arraez's rbi single off Blue Sox reliever Alex Colome made it 6-4 Minnesota. In the top of the 8th, Minnesota reliever Sergio Romo gave up a 2-run homer to Freddy Galvis, and that tied the score at 6-6. With 1 out in the bottom of the 8th, Kepler doubled. Colome got Polanco to line out to second for out number 2. At that point, Blue Sox manager Dave Bristol handed the ball to Kirby Yates, who struck out Cave to end the inning. Yates retired the side in order in the 9th, 10th, and 11th innings. In the top of the 12th, with Taylor Rogers on the mound for Minnesota, Anderson singled and moved to thirdbase on a double by Nick Ahmed (who was batting for Solarte). Blue Sox centerfielder Leury Garcia singled, scoring Anderson and Ahmed and giving the Blue Sox an 8-6 lead. Hector Neris retired the side in order in the bottom of the 12th for the save. Yates got the win, Rogers got the loss. For Chicago, Kepler was 3-for-5 with 2 doubles.

Kirby Yates had a strong outing and third baseman Yangervis Solarte slammed a
homerun and had 3 RBI as the New York (FL) Blue Sox defeated the Minnesota
Twins in 12 innings by the score of 8 to 6 at Target Field.
Both teams had scored 6 runs after nine full innings. New York (FL) came out
on top in the 12th inning. Tim Anderson kicked off the action when he ripped
a one-base hit. Nick Ahmed followed and he doubled. Leury Garcia then
ripped a base-knock knocking home two runners. New York (FL) took care of
Minnesota with no trouble in the bottom of the 12th.
The victory was credited to Yates(9-1) who went 3 and 1/3 innings, allowing no
runs. Hector Neris preserved the game for Yates, recording his his 4th save.
Taylor Rogers(6-5) ended up with the loss in relief. Despite losing, he
