Strat-O-Matic Report - Blue Sox Game #26 - Blue Sox 4, Tampa Bay 2 Blue Sox Game #26 - Blue Sox 4, Tampa Bay 2 (10 minutes). Blue Sox starter Zack Wheeler pitch a complete game, striking out 11, not walking a single batter, and allowing just 5 hits. In the top of the 1st, a 2-run homer by Rhys Hoskins off Tampa Bay starter Tyler Glasnow capped a 4-run Blue Sox rally. The Blue Sox did not score another run, and in fact managed just 1 more hit - a single by Nick Ahmed in the top of the 5th off Glasnow, who ended up with 12 strikeouts in 6 innings and was charged with the loss. The only trouble for Wheeler came in the bottom of the 5th when Yandy Diaz singled, a triple by Kevin Kiemaier scored Diaz, and a sacrifice fly by Manuel Margot scored Kiemaier. For Tampa Bay, Diaz went 3-for-3 (all singles), but the rest of their lineup only had 2 hits. Blue Sox Game #25 - Blue Sox 3, Oakland 1

Strat-O-Matic Report - Blue Sox Game #25 - Blue Sox 3, Oakland 1 Blue Sox Game #25 - Blue Sox 3, Oakland 1 (15 minutes). Colin Moran went 3-for-5 with a homer, and Seth Lugo pitched 7 strong innings as the Blue Sox gained a split of the 4-game series at Oakland. Lugo struck out 9 Oakland batters and scattered 5 singles. Blue Sox relievers Chaen Shreve and Nick Vincent did not allow a baserunner, and Oakland did not get any extra base hits. Moran's homer accounted for 2 runs in the top of the 1st off Oakland starter Frankie Montas, and Brandon Nimmo's rbi single in the top of the 2nd gave the Blue Sox a 3-0 lead. Oakland scored a run in the bottom of the 5th when, with 1 out and a runners on first and third, Robbie Grossman scored from third on a groundball that forced the runner on first. Blue Sox Game #24 - Oakland 4, Blue Sox 2 (11 innings)

Strat-O-Matic Report - Blue Sox Game #24 - Oakland 4, Blue Sox 2 (11 innings) Blue Sox Game #24 - Oakland 4, Blue Sox 2 (11 innings, 20 minutes). Another tough loss for the Blue Sox as they get another great performance from their pitching staff, and out-hit Oakland 11 to 4 - but once again lost on a walkoff homer off reliever Chasen Shreve. Oakland starter Sean Manaea gave up a run in the top of 1st when Kevin Plawecki singled, moved to second on a wild pitch, and scored on a double by Donovan Solano. Blue Sox starter Jordan Lyle retired the first 11 batters he faced (5 by strikeout), but then gave up a single to Matt Chapman followed by a homer to Matt Olson. That put Oakland up 2-1, but the Blue Sox tied it up in the top of the 5th on a double by Colin Moran followed by an rbi single by Plawecki (that was Plawecki's third hit of the game; he wound up 3-for-5). The game remained 2-2 for quite a while after that. Manaea pitched 7 innings for Oakland. Meanwhile, Lyles ...

Blue Sox Game #23 - Oakland 2, Blue Sox 1

Strat-O-Matic Report - Blue Sox Game #23 - Oakland 2, Blue Sox 1 Blue Sox Game #23 - Oakland 2, Blue Sox 1 (17 minutes). Two great pitching performances were wasted as Oakland evened the series on a walkoff homer by Matt Olson in the bottom of the 9th. Oakland starter Mike Minor gave up an rbi single to Maikel Franco in the top of the 1st, and Blue Sox starting pitcher Wade Leblanc gave up a solo homer to Oakland Matt Chapman in the bottom of the 4th, and the game was tied up at 1-1. Leblanc left the game after 5-1/3 innings, and other than the homer by Chapman, he gave up only 1 other hit. Leblanc was replaced by Miguel Castro, who retired 9 consecutive Oakland batters - 6 by strikeout, 3 by groundout. For Oakland, Minor left the game after 5 innings, and the Oakland bullpen did well: Joakim Soira held the Blue Sox scoreless in the 6th and 7th, and Liam Hendriks retired all 6 batters he faced in the 8th and 9th. Chapman led off in the bottom of the 9th, and Chapman struck ...
