Blue Sox Game #114 - Blue Sox 2, Oakland 1 (19 innings)

Blue Sox Game #114 - Blue Sox 2, Oakland 1 (19 innings) Blue Sox Game #114 - Blue Sox 2, Oakland 1 (19 innings, 33 minutes). In the longest game in Blue Sox history, centerfielder Leury Garcia hit a walkoff homer off Oakland reliever Chris Bassitt in the bottom of the 19th inning. The game saw 31 strikeouts, 25 men left on base, 12 pitchers, and 7 double plays. Oakland used every available position player, and the Blue Sox used all but one position player (Mike Zunino). The starting pitchers were Brett Anderson for Oakland and Jose Urena for the Blue Sox, and the game surprisingly turned into a tense pitchers' duel. Tim Beckham led off the bottom of the 2nd with a homer off Anderson, and the Blue Sox led 1-0. Meanwhile, Urena surprisingly carried a shutout into the 8th inning. Finally, Oakland rallied in the top of the 8th. With 1 out, Seth Brown hit for Anderson and doubled. Marcus Semien singled, moving Brown to third. That was all for Urena, who was replaced by B...

Blue Sox Game #113 - Oakland 7, Blue Sox 3 (12 innings)

Blue Sox Game #113 - Oakland 7, Blue Sox 3 (12 innings) Blue Sox Game #113 - Oakland 7, Blue Sox 3 (12 innings, 23 minutes). Blue Sox starter Dylan Bundy was very shaky at the start, giving up 3 hits and 7 walks before getting the final out in the top of the 3rd inning. Fortunately, he had given up only 2 runs (a bases loaded walk to Ramon Laureano in the 2nd, a solo homer by Matt Olson in the 3rd), so Oakland's lead was just 2-1 (thanks to an rbi single by Cesar Hernandez against Oakland starter Frankie Montas in the bottom of the 1st). Bundy settled down, retiring 10 batters in a row and leaving the game with a 3-2 lead after 6 innings (an rbi single by Jose Peraza in the 4th, a solo homer by Tim Beckham in the 6th). Blue Sox reliever Alex Colome gave up a 2-out, 2-run double to Marcus Semien in the 8th and the game was tied 3-3. It stayed that way until the top of the 12th, when Chase Anderson made a rare relief appearance and Oakland erupted with a 4-run rally kicke...
