Semifinal Series "B," Game #7 - Tampa Bay 5, Chicago 3
Kevin Kiermaier sparked two key rallies and Ryan Yarbrough held Chicago to just 1 run as the Tampa Bay Rays (CM created by Jim Holland) won the 7th game of their Semifinal Series against Chicago (CM created by Bill Sorenson). The pitching matchup for this game was a repeat of the Game #3 matchup - Yarbrough for Tampa Bay and Dylan Cease for Chicago. Last time, both Yarbrough and Cease failed to last even 2 innings, but this time each of them fared much better. The game was scoreless until the bottom of the 4th, when Cease gave up a leadoff homer to Nelson Cruz. That put Tampa Bay up 1-0, but Chicago tied it up in the top of the 5th on a homer by Nick Madrigal. In the bottom of the 5th Tampa Bay regained the lead when, with 1 out, Wander Franco doubled, moved to third on a single by Yandy Diaz, and scored on a wild pitch by Cease with Brandon Lowe at the plate (Diaz advanced to secondbase). Lowe singled, moving Diaz to third, and Cease left the game after 4-1/3 innings. Reynaldo Lopez replaced Cease, getting Cruz to line into a double play to end the inning. The score remained 2-1 until the bottom of the 7th inning. Kiermaier led off, Lopez walked him, and that turned to start a rally. The next batter, Francisco Mejia, tripled to score Kiermaier and Tampa Bay now led 3-1. Lopez got the next two batters out, but then Tim Anderson mishandled a Brandon Lowe groundball. Lowe was safe at first, and Mejia scored, giving Tampa Bay a 4-1 lead. In the top of the 8th, Chicago firstbaseman Jose Abreu hit a 2-run homer off J.T. Chargois, and just like that the score was narrowed to 4-3. It was a 1-run game again, but not for long. With 2 outs and a man on second in the bottom of the 8th, it was Kiermaier at the plate again, and he tripled to make it 5-3. In the top of the 9th, Andrew Kittredge retired the side in order (Andrew Vaughn, pinch-hitter Adam Engel, and Eloy Jimenez) for the save, and sealing the Rays' victory in the Semifinal Series. Yarbrough got the win; Cease was charged with the loss. For Tampa Bay during the Semifinal Series, Nelson Cruz hit .276 with 3 homers and 6 rbis, with a slugging average of .655. Cruz scored 6 times and had at least 1 hit in each game. The Rays now go on to meet the Toronto Blue Jays (CM created by Rob Tomlinson) in the Championship Series.

Tampa Bay jumped on top to stay in the bottom of the 5th inning scoring one
runner using 3 hits. After an out was recorded, Wander Franco doubled.
Yandy Diaz stepped up to the plate and he ripped a base-knock. Dylan Cease
then uncorked a wild one that found its way to the backstop scoring the run.
Tampa Bay had 9 hits overall, while Chicago had 6.
Ryan Yarbrough(1-0) went 5 and 2/3 innings allowing 1 run for the win. Andrew
