St. Louis starter Michael Wacha gave up 4 runs in the bottom of the 1st, but settled down after that and defeated the Blue Sox in the final game this year between the two clubs. In the bottom of the 1st, Tim Beckham and Tucker Barnhart each had rbi doubles, and Maikel Franco hit a 2-run homer to put the Blue Sox took an early 4-0 lead. Homeruns by Trey Mancini and Cesar Hernandez, plus a solid performance by the Blue Sox bullpen, gave the home crowd of 38,990 something to cheer about.
